How often is it worth having an STD screening?

How should you prepare for the examination?

Most STI screening needs no special preparation, but on the day your sample is taken we recommend:

- for 24 hours before the test, avoiding sexual intercourse,
- do not use intimate washes, creams or suppositories,

and, if possible, do not pass urine for 1.5–2 hours before the sample is taken!
