INTERNATIONAL VACCINATION CENTRE AND VACCINATION CLINIC

The International Vaccination Centre and Vaccination Clinic is a healthcare unit specialising in preventing infectious diseases. Our role is to assess epidemiological risks in different parts of the world, give the necessary vaccinations, and provide advice on preventing travel-related diseases.

Vaccination is the most effective tool of modern medicine: it not only protects the individual from serious illness, but also stops infections being brought into the country and spreading here.

When should you visit a vaccination clinic?

When planning vaccinations, time is the most important factor. We recommend that you come to see us in the following cases:

  • Planning exotic travel: If you are travelling to Asia, Africa or South America, where special vaccinations (e.g. yellow fever, typhoid) and malaria protection are needed.
  • Mandatory and recommended vaccinations: If entry to a country requires an international certificate of vaccination (e.g. the Yellow Card).
  • Work or study: Many universities and employers abroad require proof of protection against certain infectious diseases.
  • Age- or lifestyle-related vaccinations: For protection against tick-borne encephalitis, influenza, pneumonia (pneumococcus) or HPV.
  • Booster vaccinations: If a long time has passed since your childhood vaccinations (e.g. tetanus, whooping cough) and you want to refresh your protection.

Most common services and vaccinations

Travel advice and malaria prophylaxis Personalised risk assessment based on your destination, length of stay and health. If needed, we set up medication to protect you against malaria.

Issuing an International Certificate of Vaccination An official, multilingual document (the Yellow Card) that proves the vaccinations you have received anywhere in the world.

Special vaccinations Vaccinations against hepatitis (A and B), typhoid, meningitis (meningococcus), rabies and yellow fever, as well as catch-up childhood vaccines for adults.

How a vaccination consultation works

A visit to the clinic is not just about getting an injection. It is a complete prevention process, made up of the following steps:

  1. Risk assessment: We discuss your destination, type of accommodation, planned activities and current local epidemiological data.
  2. Health assessment: We take into account your chronic illnesses, allergies and previous vaccinations.
  3. Vaccination plan: We set the order of vaccinations and the timing of repeat doses. Most vaccines are available on site, straight away.
  4. Lifestyle advice: We advise you on safe food and water and ways to protect yourself against insects.

How should you prepare for your visit?

Please bring your previous vaccination record (if you have one), your current itinerary and records of any chronic illnesses. It is important to book at least 4–6 weeks before your trip, as some vaccines need time to build protection.
